WSROC President Councillor Brad Bunting hosted Pip Kiernan, chairperson of Clean Up Australia, for the launch of Business Clean Up Day in Western Sydney recently.

Held at Whalan Reserve, the launch coincided with waste management and resource recovery company Cleanaway's national Business Clean Up Day event on 24 February.

Across Australia, businesses took time out of their day to clean up litter in the environment and contribute to a cleaner Australia.Clean Up Business truck brendon

WSROC, through the Western Sydney Regional Litter Prevention Program, has long been actively working with businesses to prevent litter reaching the environment across the region.

WSROC was instrumental in attracting the Business Clean Up Day launch event to Western Sydney, bringing together Clean Up Australia, Cleanaway and Blacktown City Council to deliver the day's activities.

Cleanaway were joined by their staff from across the business, and corporate clients who spent the morning picking up litter from the reserve and a nearby creek.

Over 20 full bags of waste and 12 car tyres were removed from Whalan Reserve alone!

Cleanaway is a proud sponsor of Clean Up Australia, this year celebrating 10 years of partnering together.

WSROC encourages Western Sydney residents to 'don the gloves' and join the masses picking up litter on Clean Up Australia Day, or on any day of the year, by registering through the Clean Up Australia website.
