WSROC hosted the Western Sydney Energy Forum on the 22nd of July, bringing together representatives from 14 councils, two Joint Organisations, NSW Government agencies, Endeavour Energy and industry partners.

The forum explored emerging energy and emissions reduction issues, including climate-related financial reporting, EV transition, growing energy demand and the implications of major developments such as data centres.

A key theme was the value of regional collaboration. Councils are facing many common challenges around strategy implementation, skills, resources and data, while also taking practical steps to build their capability.

The forum provided an opportunity to share information, identify common challenges and consider where regional collaboration can deliver greater value for Western Sydney.

WSROC will take the outcomes from the forum to inform further work, including projects, workshops and advocacy.
