The second Western Sydney Energy Forum of 2025 was held on 24 November. The event brought together around 40 participants from 14 councils, NSW Government agencies, universities, and network distribution service provider Endeavour Energy for a productive day of discussion, collaboration, and forward planning.
The Forum is an initiative delivered under WSROC’s Western Sydney Energy Program (WSEP).
Hosted by WSROC and facilitated by Ironbark Sustainability, the biannual forum is an important regional platform for driving energy efficiency, cost savings, and emissions reduction across Western Sydney.
Since its establishment in 2018, the forum has played a key role in strengthening collaboration between councils, NSW DCCEEW, Endeavour Energy, and other partners.
The November forum focused on two priority themes: EV public charging and community energy opportunities.
Participants engaged in two interactive workshops exploring practical challenges, funding opportunities, market barriers, and emerging solutions.
The day wrapped up with a tour of Oran Park Leisure Centre and continued networking. The findings from the forum will guide collaborative work across 2026, supporting councils and partners as they continue to accelerate the energy transition in Western Sydney.
