Western Sydney is entering one of the most exciting chapters in its history. This is a moment of genuine opportunity, and WSROC is making sure Western Sydney is ready for it.
With our population set to grow from 2.8 million today to more than 4.1 million over the next 15 years, our region is at the heart of Australia's future — driving economic growth, shaping national productivity, and building communities that the next generation will be proud to call home.
One of our most significant recent achievements is the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding between WSROC and Western Sydney University to establish a dedicated Housing Taskforce.

This is a meaningful step forward — bringing together councils, researchers, government and industry to develop practical, evidence-based solutions on housing affordability and supply, planning reform, modern construction methods, climate resilience and place-based approaches tailored to our communities.
Western Sydney is also cementing its position as a major hub for Australia's digital economy.
Our region's access to industrial land, transport networks and energy infrastructure makes it ideally placed to support the data centres powering artificial intelligence, cloud services and national connectivity.
WSROC is actively working with government and industry to ensure this growth is well-planned and delivers lasting benefit for our communities.
WSROC is advocating for a more coordinated and strategic approach to data centre planning across New South Wales to ensure communities, infrastructure and industry can grow together sustainably.
We have also welcomed positive measures in the recent Federal Budget targeting cost-of-living relief and housing-enabling infrastructure — recognition that Western Sydney's needs deserve targeted national investment.
At the same time, WSROC continues to make the case that local government must be properly resourced to keep pace with growth.
Our councils are delivering more roads, parks, drainage, community facilities and climate infrastructure than ever before — and funding frameworks need to reflect that reality.
WSROC's role is to ensure Western Sydney doesn't just absorb growth, but leads it — with the strategic investment, coordinated planning and long-term partnerships needed to build resilient, connected and thriving communities for generations to come.
